What Russ checks for no heat

A vented electric dryer can tumble without receiving the power it needs for heat. Russ checks the supply and heating circuit for your model before deciding whether a part needs replacing. On a gas dryer, he checks the ignition system and gas controls. A symptom alone does not identify a failed part.

Warm air but the load stays damp

Poor drying can involve airflow or moisture removal. A vented dryer sends damp air outside; condenser and heat-pump dryers use a different system. Russ checks the drying system your machine actually has, including the vent and airflow where applicable.

Two simple checks before you call

Check that you selected a heated cycle rather than Air Fluff or a no-heat setting. Clean the accessible lint filter as your model manual directs. If that does not explain it, note any error code and whether the dryer heats briefly, never heats, or takes too long. Leave panels, wiring and gas parts for the service visit.

What to tell Russ when you book

Have the brand and model number if you can find them. Say whether it is gas, electric or ventless, whether it is stacked, and how the machine is reached. Call anyway if you are not sure; a photo of the model tag helps. Manhattan visits are mostly Wednesdays, and Russ confirms the day and window with you.

The service call includes the trip and diagnosis: $189 in Staten Island and Brooklyn, or $249 in Manhattan, plus tax. You hear the repair price before any work starts. If you approve it, the full service-call amount is credited toward repair labor.

Can a dryer run without heating?

Yes. Tumbling shows that the drum is turning; it does not prove the heating system is working. Power, heat controls, the ignition system on a gas dryer, and airflow can all need checking. The right checks depend on the model.

Does the dryer visit include the diagnostic?

Yes. Diagnosis is included in the service-call price. There is no separate diagnostic fee on top of that visit.

Does the service-call price include the whole dryer repair?

The service call covers the trip and diagnosis. Russ explains the repair labor and any parts before you decide. When you approve the repair, the full service-call amount is credited toward repair labor. Parts and any additional labor depend on the repair quote; tax is additional.

What if I decide not to repair the dryer?

If you do not go ahead with the repair, you pay the service call plus tax. That covers the trip and the diagnosis.

Do you work on gas, electric and ventless dryers?
